How do you find an economically-relevant research topic? What are the different types of economic papers? How do you write like an economist? This seminar is aimed to help sophomores develop research skills in economics. Work will consist of an original research paper to be completed by the student by the end of the semester under supervision of the instructor. The paper will describe an economic problem, survey the relevant research literature, and outline a contribution to the field. Prerequisites: Econ 1011, Econ 1021, and Math/SDS 2200 (or substitute).
