Socio-Economic Perspectives on Inequality

This course examines the definition and impact of social and economic inequality. The first portion of the course will consist of a review of social, economic, and philosophical perspectives on inequality, and general topics such as the measurement of inequality, international comparisons, and policies designed to combat inequality. The second portion will focus on inequality across race, gender, and the urban-rural divide. Prerequisite: Econ 1011 (or equivalent) is recommended.
